Important Shipping Update: Global Transit Delays and How It Affects Your Order - Robot Bodykits

At Robot Bodykits, we are committed to delivering parts to our customers worldwide. Because bodykits are large, bulky items, air freight is prohibitively expensive. To offer free delivery on our kits (absorbing those heavy logistical costs into the overall price to keep things simple for you) we rely exclusively on sea freight.

Under normal circumstances, this system works efficiently. However, global sea freight is currently facing unprecedented challenges.

Due to the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, standard shipping routes have been severely compromised. For the safety of the crews and cargo, major shipping lines are bypassing the Suez Canal entirely. Instead, vessels are being forced to take a significant detour around the southern tip of Africa.

This rerouting adds weeks to the transit time and has created a severe domino effect at the destination ports. Ships are arriving simultaneously, causing massive congestion and leaving containers sitting at port for one to two weeks waiting for clearance to be unloaded.

How this impacts our primary shipping regions:

  • UK & Mainland Europe: Delayed. Freight heading to these regions is subject to the long detour around Africa. All of our European orders arrive at a port in the Netherlands, where they must be unloaded and cleared through customs before being handed over to local couriers for final delivery. Because of the global shipping backlog, this port is experiencing heavy congestion. Please expect your delivery to take longer than usual.

  • The Middle East (Saudi Arabia, Dubai/UAE, Bahrain): Heavily Delayed. Shipping routes directly into the Middle East, specifically the Red Sea and the Strait of Hormuz, are currently facing severe disruptions. Many major shipping lines have temporarily suspended transit through the Strait of Hormuz, meaning customers in this region will experience significant delays.

  • USA: Unaffected. Freight bound for the United States crosses the Pacific Ocean, bypassing the affected zones entirely. US delivery times remain normal.

  • Australia: Unaffected. Shipping routes to Australia head south through the Pacific and are not impacted by the ongoing route diversions. Australian delivery times remain normal.

Tracking Your Order: If your order is currently in transit, please continue to monitor the tracking link provided in your confirmation email. If your tracking status remains unchanged for a week or two, rest assured that your shipment is not lost. It simply means your kit is safely in a container, waiting in line to be processed through customs at the port. Your tracking will automatically update as soon as local port authorities clear the container and hand it over to the final courier.

We understand that waiting for parts is frustrating, especially when your build is on hold. This is a complex global situation impacting all international logistics, and we are grateful for your patience and understanding as the ports work through this backlog.
