Custom Robot-Designed Bodykits

A fully bespoke bodykit, designed and developed from the ground up for your vehicle. We take the project from first concept through 3D design, development, test fitting and refinement, to a production-ready kit that is exclusive to you.

We have had a lot of requests for bespoke development, so this is a service we now offer end to end. After your initial enquiry and first project assessment, we put you in touch with our design team in Hangzhou, China to plan the build.

Kit Pricing — From

A complete estimate to design and develop each kit through to production-ready moulds — Design, Data, Development and Tooling combined. This does not include the first manufactured set of parts.

Widebody Kit
£18,985Design · Data · Development · Tooling

Narrowbody Kit
£12,865Fits stock car — no widebody
+ vehicle rental & access (per project)
Low-Line Kit
£6,545Lips, skirts & diffuser
+ vehicle rental & access (per project)
These are starting estimates, and they include 3D scanning of the vehicle. The only costs on top are vehicle rental & access — billed per project, and higher for rare vehicles and supercars — and the manufactured parts themselves. See What Affects the Cost below for everything that moves the final figure.

What's in Each Kit

Each total below is for design and development only — Design, Data, Development and Tooling combined. It does not include the manufactured parts or vehicle rental, which are quoted separately on top. The stage split under each kit shows where the figure comes from.

How a Kit is Built

Every custom kit moves through five stages. The kit prices above cover the first four; manufacturing the finished parts is quoted separately.

01

Design

Concept styling for each part. A 50% deposit is taken and design begins on receipt. Pricing bands follow the real complexity of the brief.

02

Data

Production-ready 3D development data, produced once the design is signed off.

03

Development

Turning the data into a working, test-fitted part. Base pricing references a simple A-segment body and scales with size and complexity.

04

Tooling

A standard resin mould so the part can be reproduced consistently. Scales with part size and complexity.

05

Manufacturing

Finished parts in fibreglass (FRP / resin) or wet carbon. Carbon quotes are full-carbon; half-carbon is available on some parts, quoted separately.

Typical Timeline

Once your vehicle (or a reproduction shell) reaches our manufacturer, a full kit typically runs to roughly five to six months from arrival to first fitted parts. Each stage begins once the previous one is confirmed:

  1. ~2 weeks3D scanning of the vehicle, from its arrival at the factory.
  2. ~6 weeksFirst draft design presented for your review, from completion of scanning.
  3. ~3 weeks3D-printed test panels made and fitment tested.
  4. ~10–12 weeksMoulds made and first parts fitment tested, from your sign-off of the test panels.

These are good-faith elapsed-time estimates, not guaranteed dates — they allow for scheduling around other projects, shipping and the usual unknowns in development work. Prompt feedback on each draft (within about 10 working days) keeps the project moving.

Full Price List by Part

Build your own kit from any of these. All figures are starting prices in GBP. The two Manufacturing columns are the finished-part cost in resin (FRP) and in full wet carbon. Tooling is a standard resin mould.

What Affects the Cost

The vehicle matters as much as the design. A car that is easy to source domestically and affordable to access keeps the project straightforward. Rare, expensive or hard-to-rent vehicles — especially supercars — raise development costs. Cost usually depends on:

  • the cost of the vehicle
  • how easily it can be sourced domestically
  • rental or access cost during development
  • the complexity of the design
  • the amount of fitment and refinement work

Exclusivity & Mould Ownership

On bespoke projects the client owns the mould, so the kit is exclusive to you. You can sell it, with all sets produced through us, and the design stays yours alone.

To keep that exclusivity we ask for a minimum of five orders per year. If the minimum isn't met, mould ownership defaults back to Robot Bodykits, and we may then offer the kit for sale ourselves.

What the Development Stage Includes

The design and development cost covers everything from concept to a production-ready product, including 3D scanning of your vehicle. It does not include:

  • the first production set
  • separate shipping costs unless agreed
  • extra work outside the original agreed scope

Good to Know

  • Design deposit is 50%; work begins on receipt.
  • Once a style is agreed and completed it is locked in. A full restart to a clearly different style is charged at 40% of the design fee.
  • Each part allows up to 3 revisions; further revisions add 20% each.
  • Additional concepts add 50% of the design fee each.
  • Reproduction or copy-from-image work is charged at half the design fee.
  • 3D-printed master parts carry no warranty against heat-related deformation.
