Material Information

Material specifications vary by product & brand. Please refer to the product description for the construction and finish supplied with your selected kit. Unless otherwise stated, products described as carbon fibre use our standard wet carbon manufacturing process.

FRP (Fibreglass Reinforced Plastic)

FRP components are supplied unfinished and require professional preparation and painting. Surface colours may vary between black, grey and white depending on production requirements.

Wet sanding, suitable primer and topcoat application are required. Minor sanding marks, light scratches and repair traces are normal characteristics of the manufacturing process.

Professional test fitting is required before painting.

Carbon Fibre (WCF)

Wet Carbon Fibre (WCF) is our standard carbon fibre construction unless prepreg or dry carbon is specifically stated in the product description.

WCF components are manufactured using a resin-based composite process, with carbon fibre reinforcement forming the finished structure. Exposed carbon surfaces are normally supplied with a protective gloss clear coat.

Full WCF components: Selected parts can be manufactured entirely in wet carbon fibre at 2× the equivalent FRP component price. Optional carbon finishes are charged additionally.

Minor weave variations, polishing marks and superficial clear-coat scratches may occur during manufacturing and transportation. Light surface scratches that can be removed by professional polishing are generally cosmetic and do not affect the carbon structure. Deeper damage should be reported before installation.

Professional test fitting is recommended before installation.

Exposed Dry Carbon (Prepreg)

Prepreg carbon fibre uses carbon fibre sheets pre-impregnated with resin and cured under controlled conditions to produce lightweight composite components.

Prepreg sheets are supplied in set widths. Larger components, such as bonnets and rear bumpers, may require two sheets arranged in a mirrored V-shaped weave pattern along the centre. This is a normal manufacturing characteristic.

Exposed dry carbon components are normally supplied with a protective clear-coated finish. Minor weave and surface variations may occur.

Available on selected products only. Please confirm availability and pricing before ordering.

Primed Dry Carbon (Prepreg)

Primed Dry Carbon uses the same prepreg manufacturing process as exposed dry carbon but is supplied with a primer-coated exterior rather than a visible carbon fibre finish.

This option is suitable for customers wanting lightweight carbon construction with a body-coloured painted finish.

Components still require professional inspection, surface preparation and painting before installation.

Available on selected products only.

Carbon Kevlar

Carbon Kevlar combines carbon fibre and aramid fibres in a woven composite, producing a distinctive black and yellow-gold appearance.

The material combines carbon fibre stiffness with the toughness and impact resistance associated with aramid fibres.

Pricing: Carbon Kevlar components cost 2× the equivalent FRP component price. Optional carbon finishes, where available, are charged additionally.

Available on selected parts only. Minor variations in weave alignment, colour and appearance may occur during manufacturing.

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)

ABS is a lightweight, impact-resistant thermoplastic used for automotive exterior components.

ABS parts are generally supplied with a finished surface and may be installed without painting where specified in the product description.

Due to the thermoforming process, material thickness may vary around bends and curved areas.

Handle components carefully during transportation and installation to prevent cracking or damage. Professional test fitting is recommended.

PP (Polypropylene)

Polypropylene (PP) is a flexible, impact-resistant plastic commonly used for original equipment automotive bumpers.

PP components are generally supplied unpainted unless otherwise stated.

Painting requires suitable plastic preparation, adhesion promoter and compatible automotive paint products.

Minor flexibility and slight shape variations are normal characteristics of the material. Professional test fitting is recommended before painting.
